PÉCHÉ MIGNON means “guilty pleasure” but over the next few weeks, every bite of our shortbread will give more pleasure and a lot less guilt!
We support local charities and one of our favourites is A Loving Spoonful. A Loving Spoonful is a volunteer-driven non-partisan society that delivers free, nutritious meals and nutritional counselling to men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Metro Vancouver. Every week, all year round for over 19 years, volunteers deliver approximately 1200 frozen meals and over 250 snack packs to men, women and children who are primarily homebound with AIDS. The average meal cost is only $3.55. A Loving Spoonful is the constant support of over 250 adults and children living with HIV/AIDS throughout the Metro Vancouver area.
During March and into April, we will donate $0.50 to A Loving Spoonful for every bag with a A Loving Spoonful sticker sold at our retail partners in Greater Vancouver. Those partners include stores such as Urban Fare, Loblaws CityMarket, Stongs and Edible Canada. We are particularly delighted that Fresh St. Market in West Vancouver will be donating an additional $0.50 for every bag sold in their store during March. More stores will be stocked up with the A Loving Spoonful shortbread in the coming weeks.
So, go ahead – treat yourself and help others.
